The Story behind the Apple Leather Premium Collection

Here with us in Switzerland, right in the middle of the nature of the Grisons mountains, where curli has its origin, we find our inspiration. Whenever we are looking for new ideas, we go out into nature to be inspired and get fresh ideas. In winter we strap on skis or snowboards. In summer we go up the mountain with hiking and climbing equipment to conquer new peaks.

To us, the best conditions for fresh ideas one can find.

So this was what we did, when we were looking for a reasonable solution for a high-quality Premium Collection of the successful curli Clasp Series.

Simply having a leather version made was not an option for us – the weight and properties of conventional leather do not convince us when it comes to finding a contemporary high-performance solution. Not to mention sustainability and animal friendliness, which to us is a matter of great importance.
Our goal was to develop an innovative forward-looking dog harness that sets standards in terms of design, ergonomics, function and sustainability.

Once again, we found the solution in Swiss mountain nature, more precisely on a field of apple trees.

Apple skin can be used to produce a high-quality vegetable leather: For this purpose, by-products of apple juice production are processed in state-of-the-art high-tech 2nd-level upcycling processes to create an extremely robust and high-quality leather.
This very innovative plant-based apple leather far outshines conventional leather. It is much softer, which is making it much more comfortable to wear. It is durable, can be easily cleaned with water without drying aout and becoming hard and it is also very easy handle, because for example it does not require extensive treatment with care products.
Beside this, it reduces carbon emissions significantly and the use of non-renewable raw materials can be avoided as far as possible.

The idea for the new Apple Leather curli Clasp Vest Harness was born. But now it was about adjusting the technology with which the 3D Comfort Fit of the curli Clasp harnesses is implemented. It was not an easy task to find a solution here. But we have spared no effort and no trouble and can now present with the Apple Leather curli Clasp Vest Harness a result that simply convinces all around.
From the 3D cut for maximum freedom of movement and ideal ergonomics to the low weight, the Apple Leather curli Clasp Vest Harness meets all our high demands that we, as Swiss harness specialists, place on a high-performance dog harness.
The fine perforation, which makes the Apple Leather curli Clasp Vest Harness air-permeable and the ultra-light CLICK.SNAP.GO. curli Clasp made of aluminum give the harness the final touch.

Of course, a Premium Collection also includes the matching leash. And so we have launched the Adjustable Leash in a version made of apple leather: The Apple Leather Adjustable Lesh.
